Since 1959, Trout Unlimited has taken an active role in cold water stream restoration by improving habitat in hundreds of miles of streams nationwide and reconnecting waterways to allow for fish passage to improve spawning and migration. Thriving populations of wild and native Trout, Steelhead and Salmon in their historic ranges are our goal.
Protecting cold water streams and watersheds through working with the angling and hunting communities and our conservation partners is a hallmark of Trout Unlimited's ongoing efforts to preserve our national heritage on public lands.
Sustaining these efforts is accomplished through youth education projects such as Trout in the Classroom and First Cast. These programs, and many other youth programs, help bring the next generation into active engagement with the natural environment.
